1. Open your outlook app on your PC.
2. Navigate to your Account Information page by clicking on File in the upper left of the window.
3. Click on Add account.
4. Next you will select Manual setup or additional server types, and then select next.
5. Select Pop or IMAP, then select Next.
6. Next you will select one of the two options for the mail server type: IMAP or POP.
For this example,
POP3 is chosen. Skip to step 11 for
IMAP setup:
Populate the fields below:
- Your name
- Full Email Address
- Account Type – “POP3”
- Incoming/Outgoing Mail server – Example (mail.exampledomain.tld)
- Logon Information: Username/Password
- Select Remember Password
Click on More Settings
7. Select Advanced on the top menu bar tab to adjust Internet E-mail settings.
Change settings per details below:
- Incoming server (POP3): Port 995
- Check the box for encrypted connection (SSL)
- Outgoing server (SMTP) Port: 465 or 587 or 25
- Select Auto for encrypted connection
The Sever Timeouts and Delivery are per Outlook default, change if needed, or select OK.
8. Select Test Account Settings.
9. After the test runs make sure the status shows completed for both tasks and click close.
10. Your POP3 email account has been setup, click finish to complete setup.
11. Populate the fields below for your IMAP settings:
- Your name
- Email Address
- Account Type “IMAP”
- Incoming/Outgoing Mail server – Example (mail.exampledomain.tld)
- Logon Information: Username/Password
- Select Remember Password
- Click on More Settings
12. Select Outgoing Server on the top menu bar tab to adjust Internet E-mail settings.
- Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
13. Select Advanced on the top menu bar tab to adjust Internet E-mail settings.
Change settings per details below:
- Incoming server (IMAP): Port 993
- Check the box for encrypted connection (SSL)
- Outgoing server (SMTP) Port: 465 or 587 or 25
- Select (SSL) for encrypted connection
The Sever Timeouts/Folders/Sent Items/Deleted Items are set per Outlook default, change if needed, or select OK.
14. After the test runs make sure the status shows completed for both tasks and click close.
15. Your IMAP email account has been setup, click finish to complete setup.
